* How to discover the right customers/clients for your business and profile them so as to avoid wasting time chasing the wrong type of clients
* Uncovering the reasons we still have unresolved excuses and how much they are costing us in business productivity
* Exposing where in our daily work life we waste time and ways to turn that time into productivity
* Working out which tasks we continually do that have an effective return on effort applied and which tasks require either up-skilling on or another person to do them.

On behalf of Laois Chamber we would like to announce a new initiative members "New Members Meet-Up", which will be held every 4 months.
Our first meeting will take place on Thursday 28th of June in the East End Hotel, Portarlington at 4.00pm.
We would like to invite all business representatives to attend.
New members who have joined the Chamber in the last few months and who renewed the membership will get the chance to introduce themselves and promote their business.
At the same time we would like to invite especially those who are thinking about joining Laois Chamber, but have questions about our services, benefits and goals. We will have time for questions and answers to Breda Stackpool, Laois Chamber President and Chamber Board members.

MidlandsIreland.ie Launches Photography Competition

MidlandsIreland.ie, the Midlands Regional Brand has launched this Photography Competition as part of its drive to promote the Midland Region as a vibrant location in which to live, visit, work, study and do business.
The competition runs through to September 7th and invites amateur photographers to Capture the Uniqueness and Magic of Our Region over the summer months from the many events that are planned in the region and be in with a chance to win the overall prize worth €600.

Talentpool Ltd Enterprise Courses |

Talentpool have put a number of unemployed professionals through Training programme and they are now delivering enterprise training.

All courses are three and a half hours unless otherwise specified
One to one and specialist mentoring given FREE at a rate of one Session Per six sessions purchased.
The mentoring sessions can be from one of general mentors, or from specialist mentors depending on demand from attendees
Talentpool is a FAS and FETAC accredited organisation, and while these courses are not accredited by FETAC, they are developed and presented to an equivalent standard.

"Best In Business" Award Launch 2012 |

Midlands Gateway Chamber launched the MidlandsIreland.ie Best in Business Awards today at the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone, County Westmeath. The president of the Midlands Gateway Chamber, Mr. Ray Byrne, said, “The competition is now in its second year and we have made this years competition bigger and better. Two new award categories have been added and we are working with the chambers from the entire Midland region, Athlone Chamber, Tullamore Chamber, Mullingar Chamber, Longford Chamber and Laois Chamber to recognise the best in all business sectors”
Midlands Regional Authority Cathaoirleach Mícheál Carrigy, Mr. Martin Daly, Director of the Midland Regional Authority and Presidents of five chambers from the Midlands region were present. Tullamore Chamber President, Mr. Joe O’Brien, who could not attend the launch, said, “Tullamore Chamber is delighted to be working with the other chambers in the region and to be involved with this prestigious competition.”
The competition is now open, visit www.midlandsireland.ie to download nomination forms. Nominations will be accepted via email until 5pm, Friday 27th April 2012.
